Ben Davey, Director & Senior Designer

 

Ben began his golf design career when he joined Melbourne based, Cashmore Golf Design (CGD) in 1996 where he was the Senior Designer responsible for many of that companies projects in Australia, Vietnam and China. Ben left CGD in 2008 to form his own Golf Design practice. Ben was fortunate enough to be raised in Melbourne where he learnt to play golf on the famous ?Sandbelt?, home to many world class golf courses. This has left a lasting impression and he is very clear about what makes a great golf course. He also has formal qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning and Environmental Science all from Melbourne University. Ben is a full member of the Society of Australian Golf Course Architects and a 20 year member of Royal Melbourne Golf Club where he plays to a single figure handicap.

Bob Shearer, Senior Designer

 

Bob Shearer is one of Australia’s most successful and popular professional golfers. The winner of 23 professional golf tournaments in Australia, the United States and Europe, Bob has played most of the best golf courses around the world.
Bob began his golfing career on the famous sandbelt courses of Melbourne, turning professional in 1970. He spent 5 years on the European Tour before moving his family to the USA, where he played successfully on the PGA Tour for 9 years. Following his playing career, Bob spent several years as design consultant for TWP golf course architects before forming Shearer Golf Design in 1992.
Bob is a full member of the Society of Australian Golf Course Architects and a member of both the PGA and Australian golf tours.

 

Joseph Shi, Asia Business Manager

 

Joseph has over 15 years experience working in the golf design industry in Australia and China and has worked with several famous designers including Peter Thomson, Greg Norman and Bob Shearer. Josephs controls and manages all of Davey Shearers project in China and ensures clear communication of clients requirements throughout the life of a project.

Ben Chambers, Golf Course Shaper

 

Ben Chambers has over 16 years experience in the golf course construction industry and has been playing golf as a single figure player for over 18 years.
Over many years Ben has become proficient on an extensive range of machinery, developed an eye for detail whether it be construction, project management
or fine shaping. Importantly, Ben has always established and maintained professional and friendly relationships with both clients and other contractors.

Ben has expertise in the coordination of bulk earthworks, construction of tees, greens, bunkers, fairways, all aspects of drainage, laser levelling, development of wetlands, grassing and maintenance. Ben’s specialty however is the fine shaping and finishing works of golf greens and bunkers according to the design requirements of Davey Shearers golf architects.

 

Tulip Tang

 

Tulip has over 10 years experience working in the golf industry in China. Tulip has been working with Davey Shearer since the formation of the company in 2008. Tulip specialises in golf business marketing and promotions and is based in Davey Shearers Shanghai office. Tulip is also Director of Golden Pro (www.playgolf.cc), a China based corporate golf competition and tournament promotions company.
